Join us for a Sunday Crafternoon session at the lovely Boyd building in Southbank!

Over a few hours and some tea and biscuits Paperlab’s bookbinding guru Michelle Lackenby, will guide you through various Japanese binding stitch techniques and patterns and show you how to create your very own books to take home.

Different techniques that will be covered include Japanese stab binding, Japanese stab stitch tortoise shell binding, hemp leaf binding and simple Japanese binding stitch.

Each technique builds on the last and all notes and materials will be supplied so you can create 4 A5 books to take home – YES 4!

These Japanese Journals make excellent gifts and can be used for a variety of purposes. Think recipe books, writing journals, travel diaries – the possibilities are endless.

Come along and have fun creating your very own handmade books using the Japanese binding stitch style.

No experience necessary and all materials will be provided.
